Concentration Portfolio
My concentration explores the positive and negative impacts that the media has on children, and how that can affect personality, attitude, self-image and perception. This body of work delves deep into the behavioral, and subliminal themes displayed in various forms of media, such as music, social media, television, etc. The goal of this concentration is to view how immersive media is in the lives of current and future generations, while also analyzing it’s development of character & attitude.
Each one of my pieces focuses on a single idea surrounding a specific choice of media and focusing on how that can affect a child’s life. At first, it was hard to get creative with the themes for each piece as if was difficult to convey any opinion towards these such forms of media, but the further into it I got, the easier it was to find new and invigorating concepts. Also It was difficult to expand my basic artistic ability into new horizons such as color. I feel like planning and researching each piece helped the overall quality of the concentration as a whole.I I delved into deeper topics such as subliminal messaging in piece 7, and music industry corruption in piece 6.
